Renukaswamy case: 'Pavithra Gowda has not done anything wrong, she is innocent', says Balan

The Supreme Court had recently cancelled the bail pleas of actor Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and seven others in the Renukaswamy murder case in Chitradurga. As the development further intensified the case, now senior advocate Balan, appearing for Pavithra Gowda, has clarified that "Pavithra Gowda has not done anything wrong, she is innocent".
Speaking to the media, Balan said there was no concrete evidence against Pavithra Gowda in the chargesheet. "I have read the entire chargesheet. There are no CCTV footage or mobile usage records that directly connect Pavithra Gowda. There are no eyewitnesses. The chargesheet has been filed under public pressure," he said.
According to him, even if the Supreme Court verdict is final, it will be clear that Pavithra Gowda is innocent once the trial process begins. Balan said he would file a fresh bail application on behalf of Pavithra Gowda on August 23, the day the case is scheduled to be heard. "There is a technical ground. I will place it before the court. It has nothing to do with the high court and Supreme Court orders," he said.
At the same time, he said, "Bale is not a release. It is only to allow those in custody to stay outside and face the case. Though the case was registered under Section 302, there was no intention to commit murder. The case is that the man died after being beaten. But there is no eyewitness evidence of the beating," Balan said.
At present, 233 witnesses are listed in the case, including FSL and police officers. Though it will take time for the trial to take place, "Pavithra Gowda has not done anything wrong, she will definitely come out innocent," he said.
Balan's remarks on Pavithra Gowda have given a new twist to the case and are drawing everyone's attention for the next hearing.
