'Coolie' stirs OTT: Upendra's entry scene with Rajinikanth goes viral!

Lokesh Kanagaraj's pan-India multi-starrer film 'Coolie' is now making waves on OTT. Amazon Prime Video, which is streaming in five languages — Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, has risen to the top of the list within hours of its release. The film was released on August 14. But it didn't do as well as expected at the box office. While fans were expecting more, some were disappointed with the story and production style. The 'Lokesh-Rajinikanth' combination created a lot of hype, but there was a perception that the film did not meet expectations.
One of the biggest attractions of the film is Kannada real star Upendra. Though Upendra's role is not huge, his entry scene, dialogue delivery and Anirudh's BGM support has won the hearts of the audience. The Tamil audience is also thrilled to see Uppi's performance. This scene is being cut and shared on social media and Upendra's name is now shining on the trending list.
Performances by other actors:
- Nagarjuna: Though he played a villain for the first time, his performance did not make much sense.
- Soubin Sahir: Thalaivani has been praised for her strong performance in the role of the antagonist.
- Rachita Ram: Though she is not seen in the trailer, she has played an important role in the film. They have got a big plus point.
The addition of a new audience to OTT has received mixed reviews in the theatres, but now there is an overall positive buzz in OTT. Some people are saying, "The movie wasn't that bad." Others are criticizing, saying, "There is not as much cinema as there is hype." The film is estimated to have grossed over Rs 500 crore worldwide. But the producers had initially expected it to join the Rs 1000 crore club. It's a bit disappointing to have come to OTT before that.
While Rajinikanth is currently busy with 'Jailer 2', Lokesh Kanagaraj is gearing up for his next film 'Khaidi 2'. In another news, there are also rumours that Dimple Queen will be playing the female lead in the film. Though the film has received mixed reviews, fans are once again giving a chance to 'coolie' on OTT. Upendra's screen presence is especially highlighted, which has made Sandalwood fans proud.
