Will "Thug Life" be released in Karnataka? Kannadigas issue stern warning against Kamal Haasan

Tamil actor Kamal Haasan has come under fire from Kannadigas for his controversial remarks at a promotional event of his new film "Thuglife". He made the statement in front of Shivarajkumar that "Kannada is a language derived from Tamil", which has led to huge curiosity and intense protests in the state.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president Praveen Shetty lashed out at Kamal Haasan and said, "The person who made this promise should not forget the cultural cooperation of our state. He should apologise for this derogatory remark against Kannada. Otherwise, 'Thug Life' will not be allowed to be screened in Karnataka."

All Karnataka Dr. N.R. Rajkumar of the Federation of Fan Clubs Ramesh also responded, "Kamal Haasan has spoken without being aware of the history of Kannada. This statement has come because of his Tamil chauvinism. A clarification should be given by tomorrow evening. Otherwise, there will be a protest on June 5 to stop the film."

Now, amidst this controversy, the karnataka release date of "Thuglife" is unclear. Though the team has remained silent, experts are speculating that the anger of Kannadigas could lead the filmmakers to a drastic decision in the coming days.
