"RCB team is not for sale, United Spirits clarifies – Put a Fullstop to the rumours!"

After the recent stampede at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, news was doing the rounds on social media that Diageo will sell the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team. This created confusion among the IPL fans. However, now there is an official clarification on the same.

United Spirits (United Spirits), which owns the RCB team, clarified to a query from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in this regard, "There have been no discussions on the sale of RCB. The reports being published in the media are speculative and baseless," it said.

The RCB team was bought by businessman Vijay Mallya in the early days of the IPL. But after kingfisher airlines was shut down in 2012, Mallya's United Spirits company was bought by UK-based Diageo. Thereby the RCB team's stakes were reduced to Diageo.

As a result, RCB is currently under the control of United Spirits, a subsidiary under Diageo. However, the company has confirmed that there is currently no decision on the sale of this team.

This clarification is cold news for RCB fans. While there is still curiosity about the team and its management in the future, it is clear that the team is in Diageo's safe hands at the moment.
