Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which enjoys huge fan support in IPL cricket, is now standing in the midst of the possibility of a change of ownership. RCB, who have already won the IPL 2024 trophy for the first time in 18 years, have now come up with another news.

According to a Bloomberg report, RCB franchise's partner firm Diageo has decided to sell its stake or the entire franchise. Diageo is in talks with leading consultants and the franchise is estimated to be valued at ₹2 billion (approximately Rs 16,700 crore).

Factors such as a decline in the alcohol business since December 2023, a tariff blow in the US market, and the government's ban on alcohol-tobacco advertising have put pressure on Diageo. It is also being seen as part of economic restoration. Despite the influence of the RCB brand and the support of fans, market influences and changes in rules have led to a decisive decision for Diageo.

Rcb was incorporated in 2008 and was owned by Vijay Mallya at the time and was acquired by Diageo through United Spirits after his business went bankrupt. Now there is a wave of change again.
