'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning' sets record at Indian box office

Tom Cruise starrer 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning' has got off to a great start in India. The action film, which released on May 17, has created a record at the first day box office in India by earning Rs 17.50 crore on the day of its release. The film is the eighth and final part of the 'Mission Impossible' series and Tom Cruise's high-risk action sequences and short storyline have won the hearts of fans. Though the film was released only in the multiplex range in metro cities and Tier 1 cities, it has achieved huge collections.
Analysts say that the film that has collected such a huge amount in the Indian market on its first day in Hollywood is more than 'Avatar 2', which is a new milestone. The number of 'Mission Impossible' has clearly shone among the first day collections of the recent films 'Final Destination' (Rs 4.50 crore), 'Thunderbolt' (Rs 3.50 crore), Bollywood films 'Kesari 2' (Rs 7.80 crore) and 'Ride 2' (Rs 18 crore). The film is all set to enter the 100 crore club in India and will be released in more cities in the coming days. This last mission is largely successful, as Tom Cruise fans expected.
