Veteran actor Shashikumar launches murder mystery film 'Kaunteya'


Kaunteya is another name of Kuntiputra Karna of the Mahabharata. Now a film of the same name has been released. This is not a mythological story. The film is a crime thriller concept revolving around a murder mystery and director BK has chosen the title for the story. Chandrahasa. The muhurat ceremony of the film, which stars veteran actor Achyuth Kumar and Saranya Shetty in the lead roles, was held at Kanteerava Studios. Veteran actor Sasikumar clapped for the first scene of the film and wished him well, while lyricist V Nagendra Prasad gave the action cut. Another writer, V Manohar, cranked the camera. Producer BK Srinivas, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja and Sathya Hegde were the chief guests.
Later, speaking at a press conference, director BK Chandrahas said, "This is a crime story that revolves around a murder mystery. Saranya Shetty and Achyuth Kumar are playing father and daughter in the film. We are shooting the first schedule from June 9. Most of the shooting will take place in Bengaluru and Mysore. There are no songs in the film. Rerecording plays an important role. Actor Achyuth Kumar said, "I play the role of Ranganatha, a sub-inspector who is on the verge of retirement. This is the story of an interesting case he faces in the last days of his duty. Director Chandrahas is going to tell you in a thrilling way what challenges he faces with this murder case in the last days.
Heroine Saranya Shetty said, "I am playing the role of Achyuth Kumar's daughter. I am playing a crime reporter here and it is a very powerful and bold character. The film also has an emotional journey between a father and daughter. Producer Suresh Kumar said, "I have known Chandrahas since the beginning. I liked it when he told me this story. I also wanted to do films from the beginning. So I agreed to produce this film. Earlier, I was an MNC. I was working in a company. He introduced himself as a producer for the first time. Bigg Boss Neetu is also playing the role of a female cop in the film. The film has cinematography by P L Ravi, background score by BJ Bharath, dialogues by Harimahadev and editing by Anuranjan.
