Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this magnum opus mass entertainer will feature Rajinikanth in the lead role. The total budget of the film has crossed Rs 400 crore, mainly due to the hefty remuneration paid to Rajinikanth – a whopping Rs 260 crore! There is a lot of discussion on social media for this remuneration. Netizens are of the opinion that three KGF films can be made with this amount compared to the budget of 'KGF' which is Rs 80 crore. The film also stars Nagarjuna (Rs 24 crore), Aamir Khan (Rs 30 crore), Lokesh Kanagaraj (Rs 60 crore), Pooja Hegde (Rs 2 crore), Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and others in pivotal roles. 'Coolie' is slated to release on August 14 and is expected to make it to the South Indian trilingual film festival.
