Shivanna hits back at Kamal Haasan's statement – "I understood when I heard it again!"

With regard to the controversial language statement made by Tamil actor Kamal Haasan, actor Shivarajkumar has clearly stated his opinion. Speaking at a private event at The Palace Grounds in Bengaluru, Shivanna said, "I have not defended Kamal Haasan. I thought he was talking about the language and clapped my hands. But it was not clear to me what he meant," he said.
Kamal Haasan's statement that Kannada is the language of origin from Tamil has triggered a wave of outrage across the state and a video of Shivanna clapping on the stage has gone viral on social media. Reacting to this, he said, "I didn't understand when he was talking. I came to know only when I saw the subsequent video clipping," he said.
"I am also a Kannada fan. You all know Anna's love for Kannada. Anyone who speaks wrongly about language must be questioned. But it was not clear what he said to me at that moment," Shivarajkumar said.
With this, Shivanna condemned Kamal Haasan's statement and clarified the incident of patting his hand.
