'Vrukshamathe' is based on the life story of Saalumarada Thimmakka, a social worker who laid down her life for the protection of trees. However, Thimmakka has complained directly to the film chamber that he has not given any permission for the film. Dileep Kumar HR, Sowjanya DV, A Santhosh Murali and Orata Sri are producing the film under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Pictures. The screenplay is inspired by Siddhesh's book 'Vrukshamathe Saalumarada Thimmakka'.

In this regard, the police intervened when the team was shooting two days ago. Thimmakka's foster son Umesh informed the police that neither he nor Thimmakka's permission for the film was allowed.

According to Thimmakka, "I have refused any director who came to me to do a biopic. Now no one should make a film without my permission. I don't agree with this film." His foster son Umesh also expressed the same opinion and said, "We will stop this film. They have no choice," he said.

Film Chamber President Narasimhulu said that the film 'Vrukshamathe' is not registered with the chamber. The team will be called and the matter will be discussed. We respect the importance of Thimmakka." The incident has once again raised the question of how much translated permission is required before making a film on monumental personalities in Kannada cinema.
