"'Thug Life' heads to court again – Court questions Kamal Haasan's failure to apologize"

The controversy involving the country's judicial system over the release of 'ThugLife' is getting serious day by day. On June 13, in the Supreme Court, the judges seriously questioned Kamal Haasan's failure to apologise for his controversial remarks.
The petition filed by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat in the case assumes significance before the court. Basavaraj argued that Kamal Haasan's 'stupid' statement has hurt the dignity of Karnataka and Kannadigas and made the language look down on it. The apex court issued a notice to the state government and asked it to clarify on the matter. It is significant that the Supreme Court had earlier directed the Karnataka High Court to settle the dispute, but now it has accepted it for hearing once again.
The makers of 'Thuglife' have also admitted that the film has been kept away from the state and there is no conducive atmosphere for the release of the film due to kamal haasan's apology. Hence, the release of the film has been temporarily stopped. The new hearing will be held on June 20. Meanwhile, the controversy has drawn close attention from both the High Court and the Supreme Court and kannadigas are inflamed against Kamal Haasan.
