Confusion over release of 'Kubera' movie – Producers at a loss under pressure from Amazon Prime!

The much-awaited pan-India film 'Kubera', starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna and Jim Sarbh, was scheduled to hit the screens on July 20, directed by Sekhar Kammula. However, due to technical delays and confusion in the release date, the producers were planning to postpone the release of the film. However, Amazon Prime Video has strongly objected to this.
The digital rights have been sold to Amazon Prime and if the film's release is delayed, it will cost Rs 10 crore more than the existing deal amount. There is a strict rule that you have to pay less. Producer Sunil Narang said, "The post-production has been delayed. We had requested for a few weeks. But Amazon is not agreeing," he said.
Meanwhile, several big budget films in Telugu cinema were scheduled to release this month, but 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' and 'Kingdom' have already been postponed due to theatre facilities and tamasha issues. In the meantime, if the release of 'Kubera' is postponed, the producers will have to shell out Rs 10 crore. There is a possibility of loss.
Now, of course, Prime's demand that the release date should be followed as listed before the theatres has put financial pressure on the producers. With more films lined up for release in August, there are apprehensions that any delay may further aggravate the theatre problem in Telugu cinema.
