The charge he is facing this time is not in any dam – this time the allegations are from his own brother-in-law Chandrashekhar. In a video posted on social media, Hegde levelled allegations of financial fraud and mental harassment against Chaitra. According to Chandrasekhar, when he was a manager in Sriram Credit Co-operative Society, Chaitra and Srikanth took Rs 50 lakh. He asked for a deposit. He has helped Chaitra to deposit in the name of her parents through faith. However, since then, loans have been taken several times on the basis of this deposit, he said.

Chaitra is worth Rs 2 crore. The money was brought to the Upparu branch during the elections. The money was kept in a locus. However, there was a delay in issuing the original bond required for the loan. On this occasion, Chaitra suggested to Chandrashekhar, "I may get into trouble, don't tell anyone." According to Chandrasekhar, both Chaitra and Srikanth threatened him after he was released from jail. "If you give information, you will lose your job," he said. Chaitra's sarcastic remarks like "I have not been given any loan, there is no evidence" are alarming. Chandrasekhar has also alleged that his wife and he are being tortured. They are preparing to demand through the court that "she should be punished".
