The awards were presented by President Draupadi Murmu at a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has been awarded the Padma Shri in recognition of his invaluable service to the field of cricket. Tamil Nadu actor Ajith Kumar was honoured with the Padma Bhushan award in recognition of his contribution to the field of art. Tollywood actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna was also awarded the Padma Bhushan for his achievements in Telugu cinema and public life. This year, the central government has announced 7 Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards, honouring those who have served in various fields.
