Padma Shri Saalumarada Thimmakka's biography to be made into a movie; Actress Soujanya to play the role of Saalumarada Thimmakka

The biopic of Padmashri Saalumarada Thimmakka, the mother of trees, who treated trees as children and nurtured countless trees and set an example for the entire world, will now be made into a film. The film is produced by Dileep Kumar HR, Soujanya DV, A Santhosh Murali and Orata Sri under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Pictures.Nelli Katte is based on the book "Vrikshamathe Saalumarada Thimmakka" by S Siddhesh.

Director Orata Sri of "Orata I Love You" fame is directing an artistic film for the first time. Actress Soujanya is playing the role of Thimmakka. Neenasam Ashwath is playing the role of Thimmakka's husband while MK Matha, Ganesh K Sarkar, Deepa D K Anjanamma, Bhoomika, Prakash Shetty, Manu and others are in the cast.

The shooting of the film started recently and has been shot in and around Hulikal and Madhugiri in Tumakuru district. The first schedule of shooting has been completed and the second schedule will begin next week. Nagaraj is the cinematographer, K Girish Kumar is the editor, Shyam is the music director, the dialogues and lyrics are penned by Nellikatte Siddhesh and Orata Sri.
