"I didn't want to carry a baby in my belly" – Sunny Leone opens up about motherhood

Former blue star and Bollywood actress Sunny Leone's name is rarely heard. Sunny, who was once in the glamour industry, has now carved a niche for herself in family life, child rearing and south Indian cinema. Sunny, who recently participated in a podcast hosted by actress Soha Ali Khan, shared many aspects of her personal life. Especially her experience of becoming a mother through adoption and surrogacy.

Sunny and her husband Daniel Weber adopted a girl named Nisha from an orphanage in Maharashtra's Latur district in 2017. She was only 21 months old at the time. "My pregnancy journey was not easy. We had tried IVF several times. But there was no result. On the same day, I got the opportunity to adopt Nisha. This is the most beautiful moment of our lives."

"Why did you go for surrogacy even though you were adopted?" Sunny's direct reply was: "I didn't want to conceive myself and carry a baby. So we chose surrogacy." Sunny Leone also opened up about the cost of the surrogacy procedure. "We used to pay the surrogate mother we chose once a week. We also helped her husband. With that money, she built a house. Yes, it is a very expensive process."

Sunny made her debut on Indian TV with Bigg Boss Season 5 in 2011 and then made her silver screen debut with Bollywood's '2'. She became popular through item songs, hot scenes, and glamour image. But, today's Sunny Leone is completely different. A mother of three, a mother who spends time with her family, and an artiste who turned to acting in south Indian films.

In Kannada, she first stepped into the song 'DK' directed by Jogi Prem. She was also seen in films like 'Love You Alia' and 'Champion'. She is currently acting in Malayalam films like 'Rangeela' and 'Shero'. He has also painted in his own biopic.

While Sunny Leone's conclusions have been a matter of debate for many, her clear stand on motherhood is sincere. "Child adoption and surrogacy are the beautiful choices of our lives," he says, adding new meaning to the notions about adoption and surrogacy in society.
