Sonu Nigam's controversial remarks at an event held at East Point College in Bengaluru, producer Karthik Gowda has said that he should apologise to kannadigas. Kannada producer Karthik Gowda has lashed out at Sonu Nigam for his remarks that the Pahalgam attack took place because he shouted 'Kannada, Kannada'. Karthik Gowda, producer of KRG Studios, commented on X, "It is foolish to compare a terror attack just because I heard a Kannada song. Sonu Nigam should apologise to Kannadigas." Pro-Kannada organisations have alleged that Sonu Nigam has hurt the dignity of Kannadigas in the name of expressing his true opinion. There is also a demand to register a suo motu case against them.
