Kannada mass director Om Prakash Rao has always been in the news for his direct, unfiltered style. Recently, the harsh words she used towards the lady associate director during the shoot of her new film 'Phoenix' went viral on social media.

During the shooting of the film 'Phoenix', Om Prakash Rao asked the lady associate director, "What is the big disease that you are cured of? Pray to God that you will die soon," the video clip has gone viral on social media. As a result, the debate about his unfiltered words has started again.

Asked about this, he said: "I need emotion. I'm not going to change. Like my style. I'm sorry if anyone is offended. But that's how my style is. I am a commercial theory director. If you have that emotion, the artist gets power. That's why I'm talking like this."

For the first time in Om Prakash Rao's career, he is doing a female-centric story. Nimika Ratnakar of "Shake It Pushpavathi" fame is playing the lead role in the film. The whole story revolves around them.

"I had first prepared the story for Darshan. But they were busy. So there was a bit of a gap. Then I decided to do this film with Nimika," Om Prakash Rao said. "I got a commercial hit with Ayya. He got the name of a superstar. But Darshan never asked me for a story. The value and respect they have given me means a lot to me," he said.

Om Prakash Rao's straightforward, sometimes harshly audible words have once again sparked controversy, but his directorial style, storytelling and success in commercial films have given him a different position. It remains to be seen how successful his film Phoenix will be.
