Malavika Mohanan's statement sparks debate

Actress Malavika Mohanan has created a stir by saying that the focus in South Indian cinema is more on women's bodies. She made her debut in Malayalam cinema and has also appeared in Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films.

In a recent interview, Malavika said, "I want to lose weight in Mumbai. But in Chennai, he advises you to gain weight. I was confused by this," he said.

He further added, "People in South India are obsessed with zooming in on the navel part in a photo of actresses. It came as a shock to me as I grew up in Mumbai."

The statement evoked mixed reactions on social media. While some have supported Malavika's words, others have criticised her. Malavika Mohanan is currently busy with projects in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
