“Will you make Karnataka as P*stana?” – Kavya Shastri's fire counter to the Home Minister's statement!

The incident of stone-pelting during the Ganesh idol immersion procession at Maddurin Mandya has sparked a debate across the state. The clash between the two communities left several people injured and the incident has now taken a political colour.
The incident took place on September 7 at around 7.30 pm in Chennegowda Layout area of Maddur. The locals were on their way to immersion in a procession after installing the Ganesha idol. Locals alleged that when the procession reached near the mosque, stones were pelted by miscreants and those in the procession also pelted stones in return.
Eight people, including four home guards, were injured in the incident and the situation became tense. The police immediately swung into action and detained 21 people. Talking about the incident, Home Minister G.R. Parameshwara said, "We have detained more than 20 people in connection with the incident. An investigation is underway to find out who was involved in the stone pelting. The police have received information that pro-Hindu organisations are also involved. The truth will come out after the investigation," he said.
Actress Kavya Shastri took to Instagram to express her displeasure over the Home Minister's remarks.
She wrote: "The Home Minister should be ashamed of himself for saying that Hindu organisations are responsible for the vandalism during Ganesh immersion in Maddur. It is not right to make such statements while in that position. Are you going to make Karnataka Pakistan?"
After Kavya made this post, many people started unfollowing her. Responding to this, he said, "I am not concerned about those who are unfollowing me as I stand for my religion. Even if there is only one follower, I will speak in favour of my religion," he said. "Secularism means respecting all religions. But that doesn't require us to renounce our own religion."
Kavya's stance has been supported by many. Fans commented, "Salaam ma'am for your courage." Kavya Shastri is known as a television anchor and has since acted in movies and serials. Lately, she has been very active on social media and has been releasing videos to raise awareness about various social issues.
The Maddur incident is under further investigation and the culprit will be known only after the truth comes out. But the case has sparked a huge debate in social, political and religious circles.
