‘Puneeth didn’t have to do all this to become a star’ – Anupama tearfully appreciates Puneeth’s simplicity

Puneeth Rajkumar, who gained immense popularity in Kannada cinema, was known for his acting skills, simplicity and public service. When many remember him, different facets of his personality come out. Recently, actress Anupama Parameswaran got emotional while sharing her memories of shooting for 'Natasarvabhowma' with Puneeth.
Anupama, sharing her experience of working with Puneeth, said, "We were working in a very small space during the shooting of 'Natasarvabhowma'. There was only one chair to sit on. My mother was sitting in that chair. When Puneeth sir came to the set, my mother immediately got up. But he made his mother sit in a chair and sat on the footpath next to him. There was no need to do all this as a star, but his mind was so big. Such a mindset is rare in today's generation," he said.
Anupama and Puneeth's friendship was good. He could not believe the news of Puneeth's demise. "It is unbearable to lose a person like him. He is one of the nice, humble people I have seen in my life."
Puneeth died of a heart attack in October 2021. Shivarajkumar starrer 'Bajrangi 2' was released on the same day. Fans and the film industry are yet to forget that sad day.
Anupama is currently busy with films in several south Indian languages. Initially away from bold roles, she has been playing more daring roles in recent films. However, memories of 'Natasarvabhowma' and Puneeth Rajkumar will always hold a special place in his heart.
