'Amruthadhare' serial actress stabbed by husband: An incident that has sparked serious threats in Bengaluru

Bengaluru city has once again witnessed one horrific case of domestic violence. Shruthi alias Manjula, who had acted in several kannada serials including 'Amruthdhare', was brutally attacked with a knife by her husband Amaresh at Muneshwara Layout in Hanumanthanagar.

Shruti and Amaresh got married 20 years ago. The couple had two children. However, in recent years, the relationship between Shruti and Amaresh has been strained. Amaresh, who was suspicious of Shruti's behaviour, is said to have committed the brutal act out of anger. Earlier, the couple had separated due to lease money, relationship risk and lack of trust. Actress Shruti used to live in her elder brother's house. But recently, they were reunited. The ordeal of this reunion has ended in the most worrying way.

**On July 5 (Friday)**, when the children were going to college, Amaresh attacked Shruti using pepper spray and then stabbed her in ribs, thighs, neck. He has also been accused of attempting to murder Shruti by holding her head and hitting her chest against a wall in a film-style manner. Shruti, who sustained serious injuries, was immediately rushed to Victoria Hospital for treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment and his condition is said to be critical. A case has been registered at Hanumanthnagar police station in this regard and the police have arrested Amaresh. The case is currently being investigated.

This incident is a matter of extreme intolerance. This kind of threat to the television actress, who is known as a public figure, has raised serious questions about the safety of women in the society. Apart from delivering justice in this case, it is clear that such cases of domestic violence require immediate action.
