Veteran actor Sarigama Viji passes away

Veteran Kannada actor Sarigama Viji passes away Veteran Kannada actor Sarigama Viji (76) passed away today (January 15) at 9:45 am. He was suffering from a lung problem and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Yashampur for the past few days. Though he was treated for pneumonia, he did not respond to treatment and died. Saregama Viji's journey has been a long and rich journey in cinema and theatre. He rose to fame with the play 'Samsarayil Saregama', from which he came to be known as Saregama Viji. Viji, who made his debut as an actor in 'Beluvalada Madillalli', has acted in more than 269 films and many TV serials. He also served as an assistant director for more than 80 films. The funeral will be held tomorrow (January 16) at T.R. Nagar in Chamarajpet. It will be held between 10 am and 12 noon at the cheetah house near the mill. Fans, friends and family from the film industry mourned his death.
