“I am not feeling well, I am under threat” – Sujatha Bhat appeals to the police

At a time when Ananya Bhat's disappearance case is getting more and more interesting, Sujata Bhatt has appealed to the police citing health and security issues. "I am not feeling well and there is a threat. Please provide protection," he said in a memorandum to the Banashankari police. Security has been provided to his house in the wake of this request.
The police have taken strict action to ensure that no one comes near the house. Media persons and the public have been barred from gathering near their homes. The police are providing security to Sujatha Bhat's house on a shift basis.
The SIT officials probing Ananya Bhat's disappearance case are likely to visit Sujata Bhatt's house soon. Though he was served a notice for questioning under Section 131 of the BNS, he did not appear citing health reasons.
The process of recording his statement through video recording under BNS 180 will now be carried out. As per the BNS Act, the statements of witnesses above 60 years of age or below 18 years of age can be recorded at their residence.
At present, more than 15 policemen led by Banashankari police inspector have been deployed at the spot. Barricades have been put up around the house. This is more of a cautionary part for the safety of the investigating team than Sujata Bhatt.
