Sonu Nigam's controversial statement: Accused of comparing Kannadigas to terrorists, complaint filed

Sonu Nigam's controversial remarks: A complaint has been filed against him for comparing Kannadigas to terrorists. At a live singer event in Bengaluru, Sonu Nigam responded to a student who heard a Kannada song and said, "Kannada, Kannada... That is why the Pahalgam attack took place," he said, comparing the linguistic pride of Kannadigas to terrorism. Pro-Kannada organisations have expressed outrage over the remarks. Members of Kannada Rakshana Vedike (Narayana Gowda faction) have lodged a complaint against Sonu Nigam at Avalahalli police station and demanded strict action against him. Karve president Narayana Gowda termed Sonu Nigam as a "cultural terrorist" and demanded an apology from Kannadigas or else he should be banned from the Kannada film industry. Sonu Nigam, who has sung hundreds of Kannada songs, has hurt the dignity of Kannadigas by using such language today. The case has now created a stir in the state circles.
