Shivraj Kumar wished for Vishwa Kannada festival The 2nd World Kannada Festival was held in Singapore in association with Karnataka Press Club Council and Kannada Associations. Hat-trick hero Dr. Shivarajkumar wished kannadigas through a video message. The festival witnessed a variety of activities including cultural programmes, folk singing, drama, award distribution, and tribute offerings. ISRO scientist S. Kiran Kumar was awarded the Vishwamanava Award and Meenaraj was awarded the Vishwa Kannadati crown. In particular, 10 talents from the Siddi community were given a chance on stage. Vocals by singer Mangli, presentations by actor Vasishta Simha and actress Haripriya were the main attractions of the event as more than 120 Kannadigas from India visited Singapore. The festival is an important attempt to pay tribute to kannadigas who have preserved, nurtured and achieved kannada language and culture abroad.
