Shilpa Shetty praises Kannada cinema: Re-entering Sandalwood after 20 years with 'KD' Movie!

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who fondly remembers her native state Karnataka cinema, is all set to make a comeback to Kannada cinema after 20 years with 'KD'. Shilpa, who hails from Mangaluru, has earlier worked with Ravichandran in films like 'Preetsod Thappa', 'Okkona Baa' and Upendra's 'Auto Shankar'.

Now he is playing the lead role in 'KD' directed by Prem, starring Dhruva Sarja in the lead role. The teaser launch event was held in Mumbai on July 10. Speaking on the occasion, Shilpa said, "I am from Tulunadu. My relationship with Kannada cinema is very close. The pictures made here are amazing. I am fortunate to have got the opportunity to work with a director like Prem." The incident that happened in accepting the story of 'KD' is heartening. According to Shilpa, she broke her leg while shooting for a web series directed by Rohit Shetty and was in a wheelchair at the time. "I am not in a position to accept any film yet. But it was at the insistence of the manager that I heard the story. I stood up while listening to the interval scene of the story. That's when I decided to accept the film," he said.

In the film, Shilpa plays the role of a powerful woman named Satyavati. Dhruva Sarja is the hero, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is the villain, Ramesh Aravind, Reshma Nanaiah, and Nora Fatehi will also be seen in a special song. 'KD' is already nearing completion and will hit the screens soon. The film is expected to reach new heights in Kannada cinema due to Shilpa Shetty's heartfelt performance and Prem's brilliant screenplay.
