Vijay Kumar, 76, had added the name 'Saregama' to his name when he was making a name for himself in the film industry. The name Sarigamaa is derived from the famous play 'Sarigama' in Samsara. His soulful performance in the play won the hearts of the people. The play, which had more than 1390 performances, was popular in Karnataka, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi and other places. This success made his name famous as 'Saregama Viji'. Viji has acted in more than 250 films and has acted in many serials and plays. He was not only a good actor but also a director and had worked as an assistant director for more than 80 films. Kannada film industry has lost a veteran actor in his death.
