The kidnapping of a businessman, which appears to have taken place in the heart of Bengaluru city, is making headlines. In a shocking incident, a businessman was kidnapped for refusing to repay a loan given to director Nandkishore. Manoj, a 28-year-old businessman, was known to rajesh alias Appi, a rowdy-sheeter. A year ago, director Nandkishore was given Rs 1.20 lakh from Manoj. However, it is said that Nandkishore did not return both the principal and the interest.

When Manoj repeatedly insisted on withdrawing the money, Rajesh and his team hatched a strategy. Manoj was kidnapped near Nandkishore's old apartment in Basaveshwaranagar on the pretext of "giving him money" on the day of Gowri festival. Rowdies Rajesh, Bakery Raghu, elder brother Seena alias Srinivas, Loki, Soma, Rajesh and Naveen abducted Manoj. After the kidnapping, they transferred Rs 3 lakh from Manoj and threatened to kill his family members if he did not pay another Rs 10 lakh.

Manoj escaped on the pretext of giving money and immediately lodged a complaint with the police. Based on Manoj's complaint, the CCB police arrested six rowdy-sheeters. The incident has sparked a debate not only because the name of the director of Kannada film industry has been attached but also because it shows the pattern of threats being faced by businessmen. The case is a wake-up call about the loan interest deal, the tactics of the rowdies behind it, and crimes for money.
