"Rangitaranga" returns to the screen: The film crew Remaining about old memories

Released on July 3, 2015, H.K. Prakash The blockbuster film 'Rangitaranga', produced by Prakash and directed by Anup Bhandari, is now all set to hit the screens again after ten years. At a press conference organized to inform about the same, the members of the team shared their experiences and reminisced about the old memories.

Producer H.K. Prakash: "Even after ten years, 'Rangitaranga' is still known as Prakash!", "I had seen a telefilm starring Nirup and liked it. When Nirup's father Sudhakar Bhandari was approached to do a film with him, he was involved in the pre-production of the film directed by Anup Bhandari. Then I heard the story from Anoop. As soon as I heard the songs, I decided to do this film myself. That film is 'Rangitaranga'. With this film, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the peak of its success, I am still known as 'Rangitaranga' Prakash even after 10 years. With the encouragement of all of you, we are re-releasing 'Rangitaranga' on July 4, 2025." Prakash said.

Director Anup Bhandari: "Created a new market for Kannada in America!". "I was in a good job abroad and did international short films with Hollywood star Russell Harvard. While in the pre-production work of 'Rangitaranga', H.K. asked me to do this film myself. Seeing Prakash's wish, I joined his enthusiasm. Except for Saikumar, almost all the artists were newcomers. Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan, Avantika Shetty, Aravind – all of them have worked together to make the film do well. Photographer William David combined scenes that suited my imagination and contributed to the success. When our film was released on July 3, 2015, some people who came to watch the film at Kapali theatre threatened our producers that they would not even spend the poster. But, our producers had a strong belief that the film would win, which was not a lie. People held our hands. Though it was released with big films like 'Baahubali', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Srimanthudu', our Kannada film became a super hit. Through 'Rangitaranga', a new market was created for Kannada in america. 'Rangitaranga', which bagged most of the awards that year, is re-releasing this July 4. I am confident that kannadigas will win our film again," said director Anup Bhandari.

Veteran actor Saikumar: "My two eyes!", "Police Story and Rangitaranga" are the two films that are my two eyes. I am very happy to have acted in such Kannada films. Even now, wherever I go, people appreciate my role in 'Rangitaranga'. May the film set a record in the re-release as well," said veteran actor Saikumar. Hero Nirup Bhandari: "When I was the hero of my brother's first film, I was not very happy!"

"Even though I was an IT professional, I was more interested in cinema. I studied acting at Ratan Thakur Grant's acting school. I am the hero of short films directed by my brother. I was very happy to know that I am the hero of Anoop's directorial debut on the silver screen. I had to fight with Saikumar in the first scene itself. The fear I felt then is still before my eyes. When I went to America, I was very happy to see the sea of people who had come to see our film. I thank the producers and my elder brother who is a director for giving me the opportunity to act in such a film," said Nirup Bhandari. Heroine Radhika Narayan: "Still recognized through 'Rangitaranga'!"

"I am an IT employee. I loved acting when Anoop narrated the story of the film. It's been ten years since the film was released. Though I have acted in a lot of films after that, I am still recognised through 'Rangitaranga'," said Radhika Narayan. Aravind, who played the role of a police officer, shared his experience. Executive producer Sudhakar Bhandari gave an insight into the interesting events that took place from the inception of 'Rangitaranga' till its release. Distributor Hemanth was also present at the press conference.
