Actress Radhika Kumaraswamy appears before Lokayukta hearing – case against Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan discussed again

The 2019 ED raid on housing minister Zameer Ahmed Khan's house and offices, followed by the ACB and Lokayukta probe, is back in the news. Actress Radhika Kumaraswamy's name has been linked to the case this time and her presence before the Lokayukta has added weight to the matter. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had raided the residence and offices of Zameer Ahmed Khan in 2019 after allegations of disproportionate assets surfaced against him. During the investigation, it was revealed that Zameer had received financial assistance from several people.

During the Lokayukta inquiry, Radhika Kumaraswamy has given a statement that she had paid Rs 2 crore to Zameer Ahmed Khan from the profit from the success of the 2012 film (starring Yash and Ramya) produced by Shamika Enterprises and from the satellite rights money, the sources said.

The Lokayukta has reportedly recorded Radhika's statement and asked her to provide supporting documents. Apart from Radhika Kumaraswamy, Zameer is said to have taken money from several others in the case. Investigators have received information that several people, including JD(S) leader Kupendra Reddy, have donated money.

The Lokayukta probe is still going on and the allegations against Zameer Ahmed Khan are likely to take a serious turn. Radhika Kumaraswamy's statement, supporting evidence and inputs from others have made the case high-profile news again.
