There was a quarrel between Ranjith and his sister over the ownership of the house. Ranjith has expressed his displeasure over the incident. "I didn't attack. If they had been attacked, they wouldn't have stayed at all. They came inside our house and created a ruckus. Things were thrown away. This led to a verbal altercation and a scuffle," he said.

According to Ranjith, the house was bought in 2017-18 when he was doing the serial Shani. As he was an artist, he could not get a loan, so he had to take the house in his sister's name. Now the property dispute has started for the same reason. "They have sent a legal notice that the house belongs to them. But I have responded. They have also taken up the matter with the police station which needs to be resolved through the court," he said.

Ranjith's displeasure is that since he is a celebrity, he is trying to tarnish his image by making a video of the fight and making it viral on social media.
He says, "My wife made a video in a bad way while she was sitting. This was done with the intention of provoking me. He has brought the matter before the media which could have been resolved in the court itself," he said.

The house is valued at around Rs 1.25 crore. According to Ranjith, he had been paying EMIs for so long and was ready to continue. Still, his elder sister is demanding that he leave the house and give the money. "How is it possible to leave the house and give money?" he asked.
