The presence of Chaluve Gowda, co-founder of Hombale Films, at the WAVES Summit 2025 in Mumbai Chaluve Gowda, co-founder of Hombale Films, was present at the prestigious World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES Summit 2025) organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in Mumbai. The flagship conclave, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, aims to unveil the growth, innovation and global potential of India's media and entertainment sector. Participating in an interesting discussion involving A. Sreekar Prasad, editor of "RRR", and Ujjwal Nirgudkar, a member of the Oscar committee and technical advisor to the Film Federation of India, Chaluve Gowda shed light on the international projects of Hombale Films. "Kanthara Part 1" is being strategised and prepared for the prestigious Oscar award, he said, adding that it is a significant step forward for Kannada cinema globally. Speaking on the occasion, he asserted that there is a need for greater awareness and education about the process of applying and promoting the Oscars. "There is a lack of clear understanding of the Oscar application and the promotional process. If workshops on such topics are organised, more Indian creators will be able to make their mark globally," he opined. Hombale Films, which has given successful films like "KGF", "Kanthara" and "Salaar", also served as the collaboration partner of "WAVES Bazaar", which brings together global buyers and sellers at the summit. This marketing platform has already emerged as one of the summit's most successful initiatives, encouraging collaborations across borders.
