Abhimana Studio controversy: Forest officer's letter, Vishnuvardhan fans' demand

The famous Abhimana Studio in Bengaluru city is now once again the centre of news. After the demolition of actor Vishnuvardhan's grave, the resentment of fans and serious allegations by the forest department have taken a new turn. On August 22, Deputy Conservator of Forests Ravindra Kumar wrote a letter to Bengaluru City Deputy Commissioner Jagadish. The letter contains serious allegations of violation of land lease rules and misappropriation of funds meant for the development of the studio. The letter has now gone viral on social media.

In 1970, actor Balakrishna was given 20 acres of land on lease for 20 years for the construction of a studio. The lease period was later extended. In 2004, balakrishna's sons Srinivas and Ganesh sought permission to sell 10 acres on the pretext of financial difficulties. The land was sold using the prerogative of the district collector. The proceeds from the sale were promised to be used for the development of the studio. However, the studio remains the same even today. Development has not taken place.

Now, it has come to light that Balakrishna's grandson Karthik had planned to sell one acre of land for Rs 14 crore. The forest officer traced this information and recommended to the district collector to take possession of the land. Vishnuvardhan's fans are currently demanding 10 guntas of land.
He intends to build a memorial at the samadhi site of actor Vishnuvardhan.

It remains to be seen what action the district collector will take in this regard.
